Spring Burning Tips

SPRING BURNING TIPS

  • Check the weather. If moderate or high winds are predicted don’t burn.

  • Call KVFR at 509/933-7233 to inform them you will be burning.

  • Conduct your burn as early as possible and finish before dark.

  • Have plenty of help.

  • Have safety tools available: shovels, water, hoses, a fire extinguisher, cell phone.

  • Wear appropriate clothing.

  • Never leave your bun unattended.

  • Be a good neighbor, stop burning if your smoke bothers others.

  • Always insure your burn is out cold when completed.

  • Do not burn if there is a burn ban in effect.

  • Call 911 immediately if you lose control of your burn.
